[ISLMA-Share] Changing 741 to GN

We have had a GN section now for years and our students and teachers seem to like it because they are highlighted in a separate, easy accessible area with their own color coding. Graphic Novel book talks seem to be on the rise, so giving them their own section has really been helpful. We have also separated them into subsections: GN Fiction,  GN Biography , GN nonfiction.

If you are going to move your GN out of the 741  section then it is a fantastic idea – if you are leaving them there then I wouldn’t bother. Ours are labeled GN and in a separate section.

I saw this conversation happen a couple months ago, and I’ve been sitting on it.

I am thinking of taking the advice and swapping the 741 spines of my Graphic Novels to “GN XXX”

Anyone have an pro/cons about this?

Currently my fiction is “FIC XXX” and I feel moving from the 741 to the “GN” will be easier for my patrons, and my aides.

Thoughts?
