If you are looking for PD that will also earn you graduate credit, take a
look at summer courses from the #1 library school in the country…the
Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of
Illinois, Champaign.  Our online courses (called “Leep” courses) meet with
the instructor at a regularly scheduled time once per week for 8 weeks
(June 13 – August 4).  Classes usually meet for 2 to 2.5 hours each
week.  There
is *NO* required on-campus visit for Leep classes..


Update your current skills, expand into a new area of interest, take
courses for the LIS or Technology Specialist endorsement or just take a
class because librarians never stop learning!

Specialist endorsement is attached.  A flyer listing youth services courses

To take a summer course as a non-degree student, submit the “Request To
Enroll” form at: http://www.lis.illinois.edu/academics/nondegree

Please note:  You cannot use federal financial aid for courses taken as a
non-degree student. You CAN use tuition waivers from UIUC that were earned
by supervising UIUC practicum or student teachers.
