Our district will be combining 2 schools into one pre-K - 2 building in two years. Right now one building has a librarian 4 days a week, and the other has a librarian 3 days a week. We are trying to come up with some sample schedules where approximately 700 students in what will be an approximate total of 35 classes get to visit the library each week. Our current schedules have 5 pre-K classes visiting the library for 20 minutes each week, 10-11 K classes for 45 minutes each week, and 19 1st/2nd grade classes for 30 minutes each week, but these times will most likely change - we are open to ideas! If you serve a similarly sized school community, could you send your schedule or hints on how you make this work to awebb at ms.k12.il.us<mailto:awebb at ms.k12.il.us>?

Also, if you are in a pre-K - 2 or K-3 building (or similar grouping of primary students), and would be willing to let two librarians come take a look at your library in the central IL area, please let me know! We are interested in seeing how your collection is divided up and shelved.

Thank you for your help and feedback!
