MUSTY *

M - Misleading. Can occur more rapidly in technology than mythology. Look for: ƒ “Dated” popular fiction. ƒ Obsolete  information. ƒ Books containing racial, cultural or sexual stereotyping.

U - Ugly. Refers to the physical condition of the book. ƒ Antiquated appearance. ƒ Worn-out, frayed, dirty. ƒ Unable to mend.

S - Superseded. There may be newer copies available. ƒ Duplicate copies. ƒ Almanacs, yearbooks, encyclopedias superseded by newer editions.

T - Trivial. Look for appropriateness for the collection. Check for poor writing, inaccurate information, an inappropriate interest or reading level for students.

Y - Your collection has no use for the book. It is irrelevant to your curriculum.

Good Morning,

I am going through a LARGE weeding process (I have never done it before lol). This is year 3 with no weeding....I am getting new carpet this year so it is perfect timing. I plan to start on Monday...any advice? How many years should I go back--I was thinking since 2010 (last check out date)? Do you just give them away? Donate them?

I am happy to let you all know what we have (in general) to see if anyone wants them.

Any advice is great!
