Depending on your setup:
Read a short attention-grabbing passage over the intercom or copy a short passage that students can read during free reading periods with their teacher.

If he has done book trailers run them in a continuous loop on a flat-screen TV in strategic places and times in your building.

Check Follett to see if there are any free teaching guides for his books.

Run a giveaway contest of his books if you can afford to buy a few copies for students.

Is he staying for lunch and if so would he be willing to have lunch with students (great prize)?

Many authors will post suggestions on their web sites for student preparation. Double check to see if he has made suggestions.

Best wishes for a fabulous time!!

I need ideas on how I (the librarian) can prepare the students for his visit as well as recommendations I can give the classroom teachers to do in class. He's doing his Nerdy Birdy & writers workshop presentations for us. I'm so excited. Any and all (good) ideas welcome!
