[ISLMA-Share] Used Books Sale

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

Hi exceptional minds,

I am weeding a lot of books, many of which are in good condition but we have multiple copies that we don't need. Has anyone ever had a used book sale in their library? I have given away these books in the past, but wondering if there will be more draw if I advertise it as a "Used Book" sale during our BOGO Scholastic Fair in May. I am even willing to have people pay in canned goods or have the money go to a charity or non-profit. What do other people do with weeded books that are in good condition and what has been successful?
