I'm a solo librarian and I have to close the library for 30 minutes every day. Fortunately, the study hall I take my lunch is usually small and they do have some time to come after my lunch. Most of those students have learned to come before or after school if they need my help. It's not ideal, but then again in the ideal situation, I'd have an LT...

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Traveling Librarian

Hi,
I am a District Librarian who oversees 5 buildings with aide coverage. Right now, I am traveling each day to a different school in the morning to check in and then returning to my office in the afternoon (I have to be back by noon each day to cover an aide for her lunch). This isn't working... I can't get caught up... or complete a project. I find I start something, then have to pack up and start it all over at a new location. No lessons are being taught in the libraries (:(). Is anyone else in the same situation... I am looking for ideas on how to work at a different place without a desk, phone, etc... The unorganization and stress is causing much anxiety and stress this year. Wanting to make a change for next year... Any ideas?
Thanks,
Amy
