[ISLMA-Share] Evaluators

While PERA legislation will have the specifics on this, a school district
should be VERY CAREFUL about this practice. First, there's required
graduate coursework in supervision and evaluation- and the Type75 exam-
prior to being licensed in the state of Illinois. If someone comes in and
evaluates you, but lacks these credentials, and states their expertise is
solely in passing the Danielson modules, then they're not licensed by the
State of Illinois, and thus ARE NOT EXPERTS in the area of supervision and
evaluation. Lawyers would love to represent these cases! Public school
districts are REQUIRED BY LAW to have HIGHLY QUALIFIED teachers on staff
with proper credentials and endorsements. Seems to me the same would be
required of an administrator who could adversely impact a teacher's
livelihood and professional reputation.

Here's more on teacher evaluations from ISBE:

Good luck, Michelle Walsh
