To create a reset barcode:
Go to the Patron reports.
Click on barcode labels.
Check use at Circulation Desk
Check include Command codes.

This will give you 4 commands at the bottom of the page:

· Check Out

· Check In

· Patron Status

· and Reset

I trimmed of the bottom and laminated it. I have one taped to my desk and my aide did the same thing.

Sincerely,

Alan, Librarian serving Brooks Middle School

Hi Jackie,
How do I create a reset bar code in Destiny?
I think that would immensely help the issues I have in my library.
Thanks!

If you are using Destiny we have had a lot of trouble with Safari and incorrect scans. That just may be peculiar to our district. Firefox or Chrome seem to be relatively error free scans.

Automatically clicking on the reset button after every patron or scanning the reset bar code also reduces checking out books to the wrong student.

I am having some issues with a new clerk in my library. She is doing her job, but making a lot of mistakes, does anyone have suggestions/materials for training a clerk to be more careful during check in and out? We are having a lot of books come back without getting checked in and books getting checked out to the wrong student account.

Thanks for any ideas...
