[ISLMA-Share] Ellen Hopkins for middle school?

I've read at least four of her books. While I really enjoyed them, I did not put any in my middle school collection (language, situational--sexual, drugs, etc). I have had a few requests over the years, and I send those students to the public library. After they've read her books, I've asked the requesters if they felt the books should be in the middle school library, and the students agreed that there was too mature for most middle school students at our school.

Good luck!

Hello,

Can Librarians weigh in on whether or not you think Ellen Hopkins' books are appropriate for middle school (6-8)? We have a fairly conservative student population.

I just would appreciate other people's opinions.

Thank you
Lori
