Hi everyone,

Our ESPs are doing contract negotiations this year and I'm lobbying for our clerks to be better compensated. Right now salary and job wise, our clerks are on the same schedule as teacher clerks. In our district, teacher clerks work in the office making attendance calls and Xeroxing for the teachers. Their job does have it's own challenges, but it's not comparable to what our clerks are expected to do (in addition to running the day to day business of book check out and shelving, our clerks handle tech support are responsible for tech equipment inventory/maintenance, etc plus a lot of other responsibilities outside the library.)

I'm trying to gather some information they can use in their negotiations. Can you please share what/where your clerks fall on your salary schedules? If any of you have tech aides can you share their job descriptions and salary schedule as well?

Anyone else dealing with this? If you just have links to these items, feel free to send them to me and I'll do the research.

I appreciate your help!
