[ISLMA-Share] Another Certification Question

No, there doesn't have to be a certified librarian.  6It seems now that
there doesn't even have to be a certified teacher in charge of the
libraries if the district can prove financial hardship.  My former district
is a small one with four schools, about 100 students per grade level. When
I moved from there this summer, they hired a replacement for my English
classes but not for the library.  (I had been a full time librarian for 8
years but was moved back into the classroom full time when the need arose.
I also remained in charge of two libraries.) The non-certified person who
dealt with the two younger schools is now in charge of all four libraries.
I don't believe that she is certified, and I don't think that she has a
degree. When I asked, I was told they had a work-around.  I'm not quite
sure how it is, but it is.
