The ESSA listening tour meetings are now over.
Last night the note taker came up to me to tell me she was impressed that
my group has consistently came out and had a strong consistent message
across the state (That is ISLMA!)
There is still time to comment- until Dec 27. Send your stories to
essa at isbe.net. Let's show ISBE what we are made of. I have been trying to
coach my staff and students into sending their stories to essa at isbe.net.
I challenge you to get a friend or two to send a story about how a library
has impacted them and it isn't equitable that there are students in
Illinois without access. I don't know that ISBE quite gets it yet.
Remember that not every student in Illinois is served by a licensed library
information specialist- we need to advocate for those students also.

Please note the information highlighted in yellow. This focuses on what was
added to the original state plan. However, you can still continue to share
your stories and information on the original 6 points (located toward the
bottom of the document).
