I thought I might share what I am giving my students.....
Thank you for agreeing to write the state board of education. We are wanting students to email essa at isbe.net<mailto:essa at isbe.net> a story about how libraries impact their life and education. (my librarian helps me with me MLA format) (My librarian helps me find the right resources) (my librarian creates STEAM challenges to provide opportunities I wouldn't otherwise have) This story doesn't have to be long. Remember not all schools have strong libraries or even qualified librarians. Make sure to thank isbe and tell them that other students across Illinois deserve the same opportunities that you have and to include libraries in ESSA implementation. It is important that there are real librarians and resources available to all Illinois students.
