Hi Pam, 
Have you contacted any shelters in your area to see what they would recommend/need? Maybe contacting a organization that works with service dogs to see if you could arrange a visit for kids to learn more/ ask questions. Lutheran Church Charities has a Comfort Dog ministry.  Don’t know if you have enough time with your even being next week.  But you can request a visit for community events.
