I saw this on the Illinois State Library Newsletter that was sent out
today--
*Attorney General Antitrust LCD Lawsuit*
If you bought a TV, monitor, notebook computer, cell phone, MP3 player or
other product containing a flat panel screen between Jan. 1, 1998 to Dec.
31, 2006, a lawsuit brought by the Illinois Attorney General may affect
you. You may be eligible to participate in a settlement. The lawsuit
involves the price of thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD)
in flat panels. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of the State of Illinois
and Illinois consumers and claims that multiple corporations colluded to
raise and maintain the price of TFT-LCD flat panels. Due to the alleged
price-fixing conspiracy, Illinois residents were overcharged for LCD
devices, according to the lawsuit. The settlements total over $104.6
million. The deadline to submit a claim form is *October 4, 2016*. For more
information contact the Illinois Attorney General Claims Administrator at
800-949-0146 or visithttp://www.illinoislcdsettlement.com/.
If you or your school district purchased technology that had a flat panel
screen in 1998-2006, this will be on interest to you.
