Sally Walker!

We had her here a few years ago. She was so flexible. By far, the most flexible author we have ever had visit. She had content that worked for ESL level 1 all the way up to honors. Strongly strongly recommended.

On top of that, her work is non-fiction. Imagine the collaboration you could do leading up to her visit.

Sincerely,

Alan, Librarian serving Brooks Middle School

How about Neil Gaiman?

Fortunately the Milk

Wolves in the Walls

Coraline

Graveyard Book

That would be pretty fun, especially if it's around Halloween.

Lemony Snicket has both picture books (The Composer is Dead, The Dark)

and middle school (All the Wrong Questions)

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] One District, One Author

Hello Everyone,

My district is looking at doing One District, One Author. Our district is K-8 and we are trying to come up with authors that have written books that range from picture books through middle school. The only authors that I can think of are Candace Fleming, Jon Scieszka and Jane Yolen. Can anyone think of other authors? Has anyone else done something similar that could share any activities that you did along with this?

Thanks so much!
