Our freshman program reads American Born Chinese; World Lit reads Maus and Persepolis; Brit Lit read Beowulf as a graphic novel.

We also just finished a Unit in World Lit using graphic novels from six different continents. The resources can be found here: http://uhigh-ilstu.libguides.com/c.php?g=563562

Hope this helps!

I have used American Born Chinese to teach assimilation and tolerance, which can be tied into multiple cross-curricular areas.

Hello,
I have been asked by a high school librarian if anyone has suggestions for curriculum in a high school graphic novel course.
