[ISLMA-Share] Social Issues Websites?

These are the sites listed on the Minooka HS library pathfinder
"Controversial Social Issues." If the links that I have copied and pasted
below do not open, go to mchs.net > Library (on left) > Research
Pathfinders (on top) > Controversial Social Issues. We use these in
conjunction with the subscription databases. Hope this helps.

New York Times: Room for Debate <http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate> - Issues
stemming from current events with up-to-date information.
ProCon.org <http://www.procon.org/> - A wide variety of controversial
issues are covered; access to arguments, quotes, video galleries, and more.
ProPublica: Investigations <http://www.propublica.org/investigations/>
- Current,
investigative journalism with similar news articles collected into a
series.
Public Agenda Online <http://www.publicagenda.org/> - Nonpartisan,
nonprofit public opinion research and citizen education organization.
Social Issues Research Center <http://www.sirc.org/> - Search or use the
*Articles* tab to find information researched and monitored by an
independent organization.
University of Illinois: Subject Research Guides
<http://www.library.illinois.edu/ugl/subjects/subjects.html> - Guides for a
variety of controversial topics with helpful links and research
suggestions.
