[ISLMA-Share] Destiny user - weeding

I use the shelf weeding report and export it as an excel file. Then I can sort it by publication date and delete the rows that contain anything published in the last few years. That typically gets rid of a lot of things I recently purchased from the report. It doesn’t always work if I’ve been replacing “classics,” but I find those when I go to the shelves and actually see what I’m weeding.

I'm not aware of any. I just rely on my own memory (ha!) and then check the items either physically or from the Destiny record to make sure I'm not deleting new items.

You can also use the Collection Statistics report under Reports/Library Reports. It will give you a list of every item that meets your parameters. The key parameter here is the Limit Copies toggle. Using this toggle and the call number prefix settings allows you to use different parameters for different categories or sections (FIC, E, etc.).

Upload your collection to Titlewave (Follett’s collection analysis service).  You should be able to upload your collection to Titlewave from the Catalog tab, then Titlewave, Upload your Collection for Analysis.

Then you can get an online snapshot of your collection with specific weeding targets.  I use this every year as well as going through my fiction section book by book.
