In addition to the board update there will be discussion on Libraries and the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) implementation. For months, much of the Illinois library community has been working diligently to ensure that support for school library programs and certified library staff will be included in the Illinois implementation plan. Leslie Bednar will be joined by Jacob Roskovensky, librarian at Charleston High School and president-elect of the Illinois Library Media Association (ISLMA). Whether a school, public, academic or special library, Jacob will address how we all can support this most important initiative.
