We've been having some informal discussions about the need for a Literacy Center in our High School. The question that's arisen among a few teachers is how does the Literacy Center differ from the library? For example, one teacher said in her own children's high school, the Literacy Center is where teachers can bring classes for assistance with writing a paper, citing sources, etc. To me, that's a service the library provides (and we already do here).

For those of you in a high school with a literacy center that runs during the day, how does it interact with the role of the library in the school and curriculum?

Thanks!
