We have looping book trailers in the Library Media Center. On the monitor
in the hallway we play announcements, blurbs about clubs and activities. We
invite our graphic arts teacher to send us slides of student work, and take
pictures of other student created works of art to feature. Our band and
choir directors occasionally submit short videos of students performing.
Additionally, we invite students and staff to submit pictures they have
taken at high school activities or in the classroom and hallways. We also
play fun library / book /seasonal related videos. We have to be careful
with anything that has sound that we keep it very low, and be sensitive to
hallway activities when we need to turn the sound off, like when our hall
monitor sits directly under the TV. Recently we began to play our power
point on the monitors in other hallways and the five in the cafeteria. This
greatly increases our exposure since students can view the entire loop
while they are eating, rather than as they are hustling to class, and
parents can view it if they are waiting for students at the main door.
