I have started going only one place after the decimal and replacing the
author with the subject in several areas of the collection: Animals, Native
Americans, some fairy tales. Everyone loves it: volunteers who shelve, kids
looking for books, and me! It makes it so much easier to find and shelve
books and do inventory. All the dolphin books are now together, but in no
particular order. Once we get to the dolphin books, we're just browsing
anyway.
