[ISLMA-Share] Google Classroom Parent side

Do teachers have to individually invite each parent (type in their email) to the classes or is there a way to batch invite parents? I am at a middle school and some teachers have 150 kids total, which would be a pain to individually add. Thanks for the tips!

I agree the Guardian Summaries are a great tool for Parents to see what is happening. I was at a Google Workshop on Friday, and did find out that there is one tiny catch with the summaries right now. Parents can be invited using any email address, that is correct. However, once they select "Accept" the invite, if the email is not a Gmail, they will prompt the parent to create one. In theory, the parent could set up the new gmail to fwd to the email they use most often, but it is still catchy! I was pretty frustrated because from everything I read & learned about Google Guardian Summaries makes it appear that no matter what email a parent has these summaries will be delivered. At least, this was the conclusion from the Google Workshop.

I think you're talking about the Guardian
<https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/7126518?hl=en&ref_topic=6020277>
capability. It's a pretty nifty way to keep parents and mentors involved
in student progress.

   - Does not require the Guardian to have a Gmail address.
   - Guardians have to be invited by the teacher.
   - Guardians can't actually see "inside" the Google Classroom, they get email
   summaries <https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6388136>of
   progress.
   - Once a Guardian has been invited in for one Classroom the teacher can
   link that Guardian to their student's other Classrooms.

Hope that helps.
