John,

How do you do this? I knew it was coming, but didn’t know it was available yet.

And if you have any Gale databases, you can link them to NoodleTools, so that students can save notes and citations and the like in their NoodleTools account.

Pros: Reasonable cost. Very nice new interface. New this fall -- the ability for your school/district to sync with a GAFE account for login/password (we're doing that in the spring). Easy for students to export citations to different formats. Easy sharing of projects with a teacher. For teachers, easy to see the work different students have contributed to group projects. Projects can be saved year to year for students who are creating college portfolios. Has To-Do lists. Has Outline creator. Has Notecard creator. Does everything we used to do on paper & with note cards, except it's digital. Students can access it from anywhere there's Internet access.

Cons: other than the Internet going out, I can't think of any off hand. The Internet will always be an issue. What do your teachers do now when the Internet goes out and their students need to do online research or type papers?

At our school, it is not mandatory for teachers to use NoodleTools, but those who do like it and many students will use it on their own to keep themselves organized. Not everyone uses all the features though, which are very helpful. One of our administrators wrote his doctoral thesis using NoodleTools and Google Drive and said it was a very positive experience. I've used it for graduate classwork as well.

Good Morning,

Our school is considering subscribing to NoodleTools or something similar. If you use NoodleTools, or EasyBib, Citelighter, or something similar, would you be willing to share your pros and cons? I am talking with the English department tomorrow about this and would like some more information. I know one question they are going to ask is what they are supposed to do if their class relies on doing their paper through NoodleTools and the internet is not working at school or home.

Thanks in advance!
Britni
