The first one that leaps to mind is "The Most Dangerous Game." It definitely has person vs. person and person vs. nature conflicts and would fit all the other story elements as well.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Help with Short Story

Happy Friday everyone!

I have a teacher who is looking for a short story at the 8th grade level with a clear external conflict and traditional story line to use as a cold read for a post test. They are assessing plot, conflict, characterization and point of view. Any suggestions?

Thank you!
