I have 5th grade volunteers that come in once a week. Each volunteer "adopts" a section of fiction shelves that they are responsible for dusting their section, the displays near their section and making sure their section is in order and there are no misfiled books in their section. I make a label for each of them that says, "This section has been adopted by----" that they get to put on their adopted shelves(students love this and take great pride in having their name on their shelves). They also help with wiping down tables and doors and sometimes putting stickers on books and any other misc. jobs. Our library is big and I am grateful for their help keeping it clean and orderly! At the end of the year regular volunteers are invited to a pizza party.

I also require that they pass all levels of 'Order in the Library'. At this age, it's as much a training mission as my getting help, but it works well. If someone isn't working out, they are asked not to come back. I also let them know that if they don't like it, it's OK to say so, and quit!
