[ISLMA-Share] "Average" size collection for 420 student middle school

They did the same for me but I had the advantage that most of my books are thin as we are a K-8 so I could keep more.  They told me ahead of time that I had to decrease my collection by 3,000 books and I did it by getting rid of any duplicate copies and older than 10 year non fiction.  We have 320 kids and my collection stands at 12,500

Hi all!
My library got renovated during the summer and today the company came to put all my books back on the shelves. Lo and behold, there are not enough shelves! We are 26 shelves short! Which led the project manager on the business end to ask me if I am perhaps a bit "heavy" on books?
Can anyone tell me what your collection number is for a middle school with around 430 students? I have 10,000 books.
