[ISLMA-Share] Alternative to To Kill a Mockingbird

The 8th grade reading teachers have traditionally taught To Kill a Mockingbird as a unit in a context of civil rights and race relations - past and present. One of the reading teachers would like to explore an alternative to the novel— one that would not be told from a white male’s perspective. Tall order, but definitely a valid point. I thought if anyone had a brilliant idea, it would be from this group! Thank you for your thoughts.
