[ISLMA-Share] Alternative to To Kill a Mockingbird

What about Kekla Magoon's book *The Rock and the River*? Also, maybe
looking at the Coretta Scott King Award winners would give some books that
fall into the correct time period range, and that are some really great,
quality novels.
