Here's a really fun video on Dewey: . Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHiUQb5xg7A

I actually showed this video yesterday to a 5th Grade Class as a fun intro./reminder of Non Fiction. This guy in the video is crazy, but the kids love it
*Almost all of the boys and girls were singing along at the end (especially the silly girl voice from "Mob Head."

Have a great day,

Thank you! I've looked everywhere for this book and it looks like it's out of print!

The Shelf Elf Helps Out
by Jackie Mims Hopkins, Rebecca McKillip Thornburgh (Illustrator)

Skoob is back and ready to take students on a journey through the neighborhoods in the library. With help from Stacks, the Grand Dewey Daddy Shelf Elf, Skoob explains the three kinds of addresses a book might have. He elaborates on the addresses from the zero hundreds to the 900s, and includes his trademark rhyme with each category. The included library lessons booklet includes fun ideas and activities for each Dewey Decimal category.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi all-
I'm new to the library this year. Looking for a fun way to introduce the dewey sections to kindergarten and first grade. I'd like to do one section a week for a while to introduce them slowly. Any ideas or things you do? Thanks so much!
