[ISLMA-Share] ESSA Listening Tour Recap - East St. Louis High School 9/28/16

Good morning~

School librarians were well represented last night at the ESSA listening tour at East St. Louis High School. There were 7 of us in attendance representing school libraries, and 3 of us spoke.


After the meeting, Dr. Jason Helfer commented to us that school librarians have been, by far, the most organized and present group. That's a great start, everyone, but now we have a few more precious days to finish strong!


The deadline for open comments is October 7th. ESSA information is found at www.isbe.net/essa<http://www.isbe.net/essa> . If you're not a fan of public speaking, make sure to submit your written statements.


We know that ISBE is listening to us, but are they really hearing us? Let's make sure they have no choice but to hear our message.
