[ISLMA-Share] Library Sign in Procedures

We have a finger scanner linked to Skyward. Students scan in and then it lets the teacher know that the kid got to the library (rather than sneaking out). Has worked great for the last couple of years, and has helped to stop students from cutting class. :)

Here is a blank version of a spreadsheet I created. It should work for you, but let me know if it doesn't. We export the students' names and ID#s and copy/paste them into the table at the right. The formulas are set up to auto-fill their name when they type their ID# into the ID# Column on the left. It also auto-populates a number 1 to the right of their name that adds up at the top, so we have a nice, easy place to see the count when we open it. I also split it up into quarters by making a new tab for each quarter and copy/pasting everything from the first tab into the others.

We love our method of scanning school-required student IDs into a Google spreadsheet. With some formulas on the back-end, you can even have the spreadsheet auto fill each student's name once they scan their ID. Sort range by name, and you have a very handy alpha list of students present in LMC each period.

I'm not sure I can share, as we have student names embedded in the sheet.

We are looking at updating our "old fashioned" library sign in procedures. Students currently drop their pass in a basket and sign in on a piece of paper during the school day. We are looking to update to some electronic. Does anyone have library software or a program that they use to check students into the library? It would record their name and time in and out.
