[ISLMA-Share] AR?

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

 Hello, all!
I am wondering if your schools use AR and do you think it helps the students?  
If you do not use AR, what are strategies that you use to see if students are reading and learning?
My K-12 district has used AR for grades 3 through 12, but no more.  I am open to ideas, suggestions, tips, shared experiences, ... as you are an amazing resource!
