We are a K-5 school and it gets pretty challenging to keep the 5th graders
engaged at the end. SO the last 2-3 weeks, we work on a memory project.
Each student gets one of our LMC iPads, then they can choose to make a
PicCollage of places around the school that they want to remember, i.e. the
front doors, the art room, the LMC...They can take pics of their old rooms,
of friends, the secretaries, anything about elementary school that they
want to remember. OR they can make an iMovie trailer looking back and
forward to the middle school. They always do something creative! BUT they
CANNOT to be disruptive in the halls or disturb teachers when they are
teaching. They often come down during their recess in order to work on it
beyond library time. I will print out their collages for them in color if
they choose that option. One year, two boys chose to video all the
teachers and made it into a video for our end of year assembly. It was
amazing!
