Showing a DVD must have a specific educational purpose related to a
specific lesson plan.  Broadcasting to the entire school does not count
unless the entire student body is studying the same thing.  According to
Copyright for Schools: A Practical Guide. 4th Edition by Carol Simpson:
"Unless there is a specific teaching goal documented in a district
curriculum guide or state standard, one may reliably count on the need for
a performance license." (pg 77). You MUST own public performance rights in
order to show something all over the entire school.  But the good news is
that performance rights are not hard to obtain.
