For underclassmen, we turn the fines over to our bookkeeping department, and they add them to their registration fees for the next year. Sometimes we get the money after it’s paid, and sometimes we don’t. It’s not perfect, but we do get some money that way.

Subject: [ISLMA-Share] Lost materials and fines
Does anyone have any suggestions to try to get underclassmen to take care of their fines and lost books? Graduation works well with seniors… We are currently doing this-
Students with overdue books must return or renew them in order to be in the media center from study hall.
Students with fines over $2 must pay them in order to be in the media center from study hall.
Students with fines from a previous semester must pay them in order to be in the media center from study hall.
Which is working well, but only gets study hall kids.
I would love to hear a good idea.
