*Position Description:*

CCSD59 believes that school libraries serve as a critical resource in
preparing students to be successful for life.  Contemporary libraries have
evolved from being almost exclusively about providing content to becoming a
learning commons that are far more personal and collaborative for patrons.
Libraries today are less about what we *have* for people and more about
what we *do *for people.  These spaces are flexible and embrace
collaborative, creative and experiential learning.  Library professionals
that are successful in this type of learning environment find value in
creating and maintaining relationships that allow them to be a trusted
adviser about library science, digital literacy skills and a variety of
learning resources.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*

*Professional Educator License required
*Library Information Specialist Endorsement preferred
*Knowledge and application of effective instructional practices in reading
and writing required (including content area literacy)
*Vast knowledge of texts spanning across genres, formats, and intended
audiences required
*Knowledge and practice of technology and innovative learning skills
*Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education
may find appropriate and acceptable
*Must have the ability to travel to/from various locations in the district
as needed

2.  Utilizes 21st century learning and teaching practices every day in
every lesson.
3.  Develops distinguished students by providing students with ample
practice time and focused formative feedback.

5.  Builds trust and promotes positive relationships with students,
parents, and colleagues.
6.  Understands and aligns instruction to the learning outcomes and/or
content area standards.
7.  Plans instruction/work aligned to outcomes based thinking.
8.  Pursues innovation and excellence in assignment.
