[ISLMA-Share] Growth Mindset books for 6th grade

Dear All,
I have a new ELA teacher who is thinking about framing her curriculum
around Growth Mindset--The Power of Yet.  We are brainstorming on what to
add for both novels and nonfiction text that would reinforce this idea.
What are your favorite sixth grade reads that have been published in the
last 3-4 years that would fit this idea?

We have come up with possibly using *A Long Walk to Water* and *Roll of
Thunder, Hear My Cry *because we have class sets of these.  The principal
has offered to purchase newer books, however, so we just need to be
inspired.
