Hi all,

We are trying to finish up our conference schedule, so our programs can be printed. Can you believe we are two months away from conference! I am VERY excited about our lineup so far, but we need a little help to finish up. We have a couple of different types of opportunities. Also, remember presenters get $35 off their registration costs!

1. We have four open slots for concurrent sessions - two on Friday and two on Saturday. If you have had an idea for a session since the RFP went out in the spring, please email a title, description, presenter names (up to three per session will get the $35 discount), and a contact email to confprogram at islma.org<mailto:confprogram at islma.org> by August 25th. Please let me know if you can do Friday or Saturday, or if either day will work. I will schedule people first come, first serve.

2. We are putting together a Library 101 strand of sessions for this conference that anyone can attend, but that will focus on topics that newcomers to the field (or our student members) might have questions about. We need a few panelists for the following sessions. Please email me at confprogram at islma.org<mailto:confprogram at islma.org> if you are interested in being on one of our panels. I will try to balance grade levels as best I can.

                                                               i. Friday, October 20 from 8:30-9:30am - Library 101 - This session will focus on best practices, programs, lessons, etc. A moderator will start off with a few questions for the panel, then the audience will be able to ask their own questions.

ii. Friday, October 20 from 9:45-10:45 - Building and Leveraging Your PLN - Do you participate in local librarian groups, interact on Twitter, etc? How do you find people who help you grow professionally?

iii. Saturday, October 21 from 11:00-12:00 - Managing a Budget - How do decided what to purchase with the money you are given? What data can you point to when requesting more money? Do you have an organization system that works for you?

iv. Saturday, October 21 from 1:45-2:45 - To Genrefy or not to Genrefy - What are the pros and cons for your library when deciding whether or not to genrefy? We would love to have panelists that have genrefied and those that have chosen not to.

3. We had several Maker sessions submitted, but we also wanted to have a Maker Panel like we did last year that is a little more informal and a place where more general questions can be asked. We are looking for people with all lengths and types of experiences with makerspaces in the library.

You can contact me at confprogram at islma.org<mailto:confprogram at islma.org> with any questions or to volunteer to help with one (or more!) of these opportunities. Thank you all for your help!
