I have not been able to get too many of my kids hooked yet, but I will
never stop trying to get them to read the magic that Terry Brooks has in
his books. It started for me in high school (1992ish) with reading my
brother's copy of *The Sword of Shannara* and it continues still to this
day as he contines to write magical books year after year. (The Shannara
"series" spans multiple trilogies, sets, and individual books, as well as a
tv series, which just wrapped up season 2).

He does have another series, the Landover series, which is also fantasy.
