[ISLMA-Share] One to One Chromebooks

Our Chromebooks from 5-12 are treated as a school supply. If you don't
bring your school supplies to school in a condition ready to use, there
could be consequences. At our 5th-6th grade level, the students are
allowed 3 free "computer passes" to come to the library to borrow one.
After that, the teacher teams decided that a detention would accompany the
4th trip to the library (these are handled by the classroom teachers).

At the junior-high (7th-8th for us), the students are encouraged to BRING
the CORD with them if they forgot to charge. Teachers may or may not let a
student leave class to come to the library for a loaner. We only have 7
loaners available each day.

We let parents and students *know the expectation* at the beginning of the
year that Chromebooks are a school supply that should be charged and ready
to use daily.

In the libraries, we check out up to 5 or 6 Chromebooks per day, and each
one is due back by 3 p.m. so it is manageable. These "library loaners" are
a different model than the others, so there is no incentive to take it home
because once it loses its charge, the student would not be able to
re-charge it.
