[ISLMA-Share] Books like "Nothing but the Truth"

Our 7th and 8th grade teachers are looking for a replacement class novel to "Nothing but the Truth" by Avi.  They feel it is becoming a bit dated and would like to explore some more current titles.  They like the different lenses the story is presented through (journal entries, memos, press releases, etc) and are not generally afraid of tackling "controversial" content.

If you have any great recommendations on titles that might serve as good substitutes, I welcome them.  Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
