[ISLMA-Share] HELP with book suggestion

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

I had a teacher email me the following...I am drawing a black. Any
suggestions? This is for a junior high student. Thanks in advance!

"I had a student come to me asking for more books like The Outsiders.  This
is apparently the first book this student has ever enjoyed, and she liked
the easy flow of action, lovable characters, relaxing reading level, and
high intensity emotion.

I thought that was a pretty tall order to fill, so I thought I'd ask to see
if you had any suggestions.  Let me know if you have any ideas!"
