[ISLMA-Share] Book content

Are you reading the entire novel? Charlie does have a love affair with a
woman named Fay, and it talks about drinking and sleeping together. It's
nothing graphic, but it's pretty clear what's going on. If you think the
parents would be upset about their students reading about sex, you might
want a permission slip. There's also a part where Charlie talks to a
pregnant woman in the park who gives off the impression she is a
prostitute.

For eighth graders, there's also a lot of philosophy ideas that may be
challenging, more for content and reading comprehension than mature themes.

Are they able to read the short story instead of the entire novel?
