[ISLMA-Share] self check

[Email list for the Illinois School Library Media Association]

I use Chromebooks with Follett scanners. I have an account set up as
STUDENT and I have set the access levels to allow check out and hold.
Students may also override an overdue because I have notices sent to their
email.

The older students type in their name, the younger students scan their
barcode. I'll be teaching first grade this spring.

I teach students to:
 Make sure the blinking line is in the box (the cursor)
 Make sure their own name is showing
 Make sure their book scans (and scan the school barcode not the ISBN)
 How to press RESET after checking out their books to clear the screen
 and how to stamp the due date

I do get books checked out to the wrong person, and some kids just want to
bring their books to me, but it all seems to work out.
