[ISLMA-Share] Color update with spray paint experiences?

Last summer my husband tackled a book cart project for me. He sanded loose
paint and rough areas but didn't prime anything. I cut stars out of a
magnetic sheet. We spot painted the yellow, let it dry well, put on the
magnetic stars (& painters tape on the edges) and sprayed two coats of
blue. Now I have blue magnetic stars to use on other things in the library.
