I'm new to the K-5 world this year (after many years at 6-8), and this
is what I inherited (and it seems to work well):
	● Pink "everyone" fiction zone, cataloged with an E prefix.
It has picture books and early chapter books. If the audience level is
K-3, this is where it goes.
	● Blue grades 3-5 zone (or younger with teacher approval),
has an F prefix. If the audience is 3-6, it goes here.
	● Yellow: all nonfiction, using Dewey, all grades can check
out
	● GN prefix: graphic novels, for all grades. It used to be
separated by GN E ABC and GN F ABC by grade level. I combined them into
one.
	● MP3 prefix for Playaways
	● SPA: Spanish
	● POL: Polish
	● B: Biography

The blue section has all blue signage, pink has pink, etc.

Good luck!

I would be interested in reading any suggestions as well. We are moving
from three K-8 schools to two K-4 schools and a 5-8 school. Lots of
changes!

Hello,
In the next few years my school district will be transitioning from 1
K-1 and 3 2-5 building configurations to 4 K-5 schools. As we begin to
prepare our libraries, I am gathering information and ideas on how to
set up our new library spaces. For those of you in a K-5 schools, how do
you have your library collections set up? Do you have separate fiction
sections (E, Beginning Readers for K-3 and then fiction for 4-5) or are
they all mixed together? Are they colored coded? Any input would be
beneficial. Feel free to email me off line atabendall at antioch34.com
Thank you,
