If you shop in Titlewave, there are search limiters specifically for K-3. You can also search some of the review sources (Horn Book, SLJ) by age or grade.

Good luck!

Hello,

As I'm putting together my winter book order, I am running into the same problem I have every year. How do I pinpoint chapter books that are appropriate for a 1-3 audience? My building is only 1-3 grades, so I struggle each year with deciding on middle grade titles that will fit for this age group while not going too high since the majority of my readers don't truly fit in the middle grade category. Any suggestions for blogs to look at or ways to narrow titles that will hold interest for my 3rd graders? They all love Dork Diaries, Wimpy Kid, I Survived, Captain Underpants, Princess in Black, Jedi Academy, Origami Yoda... I'm just looking to expand my collection but want to keep it age-appropriate. Since I only go up to 3rd sometimes I feel uncomfortable having titles that would normally be in a K-5 school.
